Our story began in the little town of
Hedricksburg in the state of Nebraska.
Hedricksburg was a small town with little
excitement except for the Sunday Cheese Fights.
Every Sunday after church all the townsfolk
gathered at the town square with their fighting
cheeses.
One Sunday, Ed, the town astrophysicist,
noticed that his cheese was not in a fighting
mood. He tried to persuade it to fight, but the
little piece of cheese remained passive. Then
suddenly the cheese spoke.
He said, "I am Howard. Go away!" Now
this was very strange. For although it was common
place for cheese to fight, they were never known
to talk. So Ed ran away. Howard the cheese was
determined to become a oceanographer in the state
of Idaho, so he scooted his way there. In Idaho,
Howard joined the community college and began his
study of oceanography. But when Howard learned
what oceanography was he quickly lost interest
and moved to Maine were he became a wild cheese
roaming the forests.
The Author wishes in no way to condone cheese
fighting. This was an isolated incident in
backwater Nebraska. Please remember that cheese
